Reiki Healing
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique and has been practiced for thousands of years. Healing takes place with hands on and around the body and auric field. This type of healing can also be performed long distance. Reiki is noninvasive and is safe to use. It guides universal life force energy throughout and around the body to help the flow of energy to promote the body’s natural healing ability. If energy in and around the body is low, weak, or blocked, it can contribute to physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health issues. Reiki treats the whole person (body, mind, emotions, spirit, and aura). Reiki supports any medical or alternative healing method a client may be using.
Stephanie is a Reiki Master/Teacher and energy healer using Usui Reiki. She has a gentle approach to working with anyone that she meets. Because Stephanie is a medium, she is able to get messages for folks while they are on the table or receiving distance healing. She can connect to Ascended masters, angels and loved ones. She will use her discretion on when to ask questions, give information, etc. during a session. Additionally, Steph may use other tools when doing a healing such as sound, pendulum, crystals, essential oils, etc.
If you are in need of a deep healing or are booking your first healing session, Stephanie recommends you book a 90-minute appointment for the most optimal results.
Stephanie offers 45 min, 60 min, 90-min Reiki sessions as well as other integrated sessions. Please contact Stephanie directly if you are looking for her to travel to you. She does small group readings, healing parties, etc. She is happy to travel up to 20 miles outside of the Scarborough area. She will charge a commuting fee.
If you have any questions about Reiki, Distance Healing, what it can help treat, what a session looks like or any other components to sessions, please see the frequently asked questions page or feel free to contact me.

Reiki for Dogs
Reiki can be used in the same way it is on humans with similar hand placements near the body’s natural energy centers. Reiki can help dogs with many of the same things that we struggle with as humans such inducing relaxation, stress & anxiety reduction, pain, recovery from illness or injury. Reiki can also be used in the end-of-life care for dogs as it can ease the dying process for both animals and their caregivers. Reiki is a safe and gentle complementary therapy that can be done by restoring the dog’s energetic health and re-balancing their emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reiki can complement prescribed medication and help dogs seek peace, joy, and happiness. There should be a distraction free space to provide this modality.
Because animals can get distracted or want to move around, I find a 30- or 45-min session is adequate enough (unless the dog is very sick, undergone surgery, or is nearing the end of life).
Reiki should not replace veterinary care or medical treatment. It is always important to consult with your vet for any health concerns regarding your dog.

How long do the cupping bruises last for?Bruising can last from a few days up to 2 weeks. It is expected that after repeated treatments the bruising decreases as the stagnation gets better/resolved. This would indicate successful results of the treatment.
-
Are there side effects to cupping?Cupping is generally safe, but you may experience minor side effects during or immediately after the cupping therapy. Cupping often causes marks on the skin that look like bruising. This is because we are bringing blood to the surface (there may be redness or discoloration where the cups were placed). The darker the discoloration the more stagnation/toxins are in that area. Light headedness/dizziness (this tends to happen more when you are not properly hydrated). Some discomfort can occur but should not be painful. Let Stephanie know if it hurts, and we can loosen the cup or remove it. Many find the suction relaxing. Moderate, temporary discomfort is expected as stagnation is removed, and connective tissue and muscles are loosened.
-
What do I do after the treatment?Keep the treated area covered and warm for 24-48 hours: The cupping has caused your body to physically release heat, so we want to keep these areas warm. If sun or cold air gets to it, it can cause muscles to tighten back up or spasm. Hydrate: This is always important to keep your body hydrated for proper muscle and structural functioning. This is important before and after treatment as your body will be ridding of toxins and things that do not serve your highest good. It is best to flush your system. This also helps in reducing any soreness felt from the treatment. Avoid hot or cold physical activity for 24-48 hours: There is a lot of work being done post treatment to achieve more harmony and balance within your body. It is recommended to let your body adjust in a gentle way and at your own pace. Avoid steam rooms, saunas, cold plunges, extreme hot/cold showers, etc. This is to ensure that your muscles do not tense/tighten back up or cause muscle spasms. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, & sugar: Cupping can bring up previously held toxins and congestion in your body to the surface of your skin to be released. Your liver will be working to process this release for 24-48 hours following your treatment. It is best to give your body a break while it repairs itself.
-
Who should not get cupping?Anyone on blood-thinning medications. You could experience excessive bleeding or bruising with this therapy. Children & older adults are at higher risk and can experience more severe bruising and blistering. Pregnant women should consult with their physicians. If you have active inflammation on the skin, burns, infections, or open wounds, cupping should not be performed on those areas.

Is there anything I need to do following a Reiki treatment?Reiki continues to work in the body for 24-48 hours after treatment. These are purely suggestions for optimum detox of energy. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, processed sugar, and red meat for 24-48 hours post treatment. Pay attention to any changes that you notice. Are you as reactive to something as you used to be? How are you feeling emotionally? If you had physical pain when you received treatment, do you notice it as much or is it gone? If you have felt stuck or blocked in life, how do you feel now? Are you sleeping better?

Are there side effects to Reiki?Almost all of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. However, sometimes a person will have what is called a healing crisis. As a person’s vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be released into the blood stream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system. When this happens, sometimes a person can get a headache, stomachache, or feel weak. If this happens, it is a good idea to drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process, so this is a good sign. I usually hear that following a Reiki treatment the person has a great night's sleep, vivid dreams, being able to see more clearly when it comes to their life, decisions, pain relief, etc.
-
How long can I receive Reiki treatment for?Stephanie offers 45-min, 60-min, and 90-min Reiki sessions.
-
How often should I get Reiki treatment?Reiki sessions every 3-6 weeks are a great way to do a bigger energy “clean up.” If you are going through unexpected events such as grief, injury, transitions in life it could be helpful to come in more frequently. I generally tell people that you will intuitively know when it is time to return. If you are unsure, feel free to reach out so we can talk about something that would work best for you and the outcome you are looking for. If you're looking to come in on a more frequent basis, check out package deals to get the most bang for your buck.
-
Should I do anything to prep for a Reiki treatment?Try to avoid alcohol, red meat, and processed sugars 24-48 hours before treatment. Be ready to share anything you would like to address such as heavy emotions, high stress, mental health concerns, negative thought patterns/behaviors you would like relief from. Feel free to share any physical limitations such as medical conditions/history and/or injuries.
-
What do I wear to a Reiki treatment?Wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing. If you are wearing a smart watch, belt, etc. you will be asked to take those off before treatment.
